Daphne Boxill
As a self-taught, self-portrait photographer, my art is a reflection of the intersectionality
of my identity as a Black woman in Canada, influenced by my Caribbean heritage and
upbringing in New Brunswick.
Through the lens of my camera, I explore themes of isolation, identity, recovery from
trauma and self-love. Each self-portrait is a portal to discovery, a celebration of my roots
and an assertion of my presence.
